Shanghai is China’s biggest city and a financial hub. Shanghai is located in the central coast of China.
Shanghai is said to be hosting this year’s AI conference, a conference which was debuted last September, is scheduled to run from August 29 – 31 this year.
This year’s event will focus on the connected intelligent world enabled by the development of AI technologies. There will be two summit forums and 10 industry panels will be held during the three day event, where governors, representatives from international organization, leading scientist and entrepreneurs discuss the development of the AI industry to seek quality development, application and governance. Among other topics to be discussed are machine learning, chips and smart hardware to autonomous driving and 5G.
Vice-Mayor Wu Qing in a media briefing on Tuesday said, top tech guru companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Alibaba and host of others will be the strategic partners of the conference he further said that Tesla CEO Elon Musk will be participating in the event.
There will be zones showcasing the demonstration of how AI can be applied to empower multiple industries, including city management, finance and commerce, healthcare and education, he said.
Shanghai will prioritize the development of AI in the realms of autonomous driving, robots, smart hardware, sensors, Wu said. The city is planning to draft and AI development road-map to expand industry influence and leverage the city’s Xuhui and Zhangjiang areas as two leading sport.
Official statistics showed that the city is already home to 1,000 companies with AI as its core business. According to a plan issued last year by municipal authorities, Shanghai is looking to lead the park by becoming a global AI hub, with plans to expand the scale of its industry to more than 100 billion yuan ($14.4billion) by 2020.
The event is dated to take place in Shanghai city of China on the 29-31 August, 2019.
